An employee in Shanghai, China asked his employer to send his 13th month bonus directly to his mother in order to avoid his wife finding out. The man’s wife controls the couple’s financials and bank accounts, a common social structure dynamic in Shanghai & other areas in China. Sadly his wife and mother do not get along, so transferring money to his family is met with complications. His employer refused the request to distribute his salary / bonus over to his mother’s bank card citing legal uncertainties.
