In general, individuals that have a valid working visa or residence permit can leave China and come back without problems, but the main requirement is to be inoculated with the Chinese vaccine.

But different countries have different rules.

For example, if you are from the UK and you have a valid working visa, family reunion visa, or residence permit, and you have been inoculated with the Chinese vaccine, you can visit your country and come back to China.

If you are an Italian that wants to go to Italy and come back to China,  you can do that if you have a valid working visa and you have been inoculated with the Chinese vaccine.

If you are from the USA, and you want to go back to the USA, your residence permit will be valid, you will not need to apply for a new visa. But you do need to contact the Chinese Consulate in the USA to get approval first before you buy the flight ticket to China.

But for example, if you want to go to Russia, your residence permit will be invalid, so you will have to contact the Chinese consulate in Russia and check with them how to move on. You might not be able to come back to China in a short period.
